Weekly Passage - for week of 2/2/03

"Occasionally, in a new seeker, I find a sense of futility with life in general, a feeling of "what is the use," almost a giving up. Always my answer is that this is perfectly natural to an individual who no longer loves, gives, and shares. Seldom do we find futility in those who love and serve. The givingness of life comes forth from the lovingness of the Soul, and this makes life an adventure and a joy. Not who loves us or how many love us, not who gives to us or shares with us, but whom do we love, to whom do we minister, with whom do we share: this is the secret life of joy and peace."
