The beginning of all this work was the realization that healing work is not based on a power that destroys sin, disease, death, lack, or limitation. It is not based on two powers struggling with each other. And as revelation followed revelation, unfoldment followed unfoldment, this ultimately came -- the entire human scene is the operation of one power over another -- one power destroying another -- one power overcoming another. Always resorting to some power to do something to some other power. And when metaphysical and mental healing began it began on that basis of truth -- overcoming error, the immortal destroying the mortal, the real doing away with the unreal, so that the two, good and evil, were still perpetuated. Now come with me for just a few minutes in to an inner unfoldment -- an inner stillness in which you are not going to resort to any power to do any thing. You are going to resist not evil. You are going to be still and let evil do anything it wants. You will not deny it. And you will not affirm. You will not seek God. You will not fear a devil. Sit at peace. Be still. In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Can you imagine the enormity of that statement? In quietness…and confidence…shall be your strength. No struggle, no strife, no battle. Quietness and confidence. The Lord is my shepherd. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He seteth a table before me in the wilderness. He performeth that which is given me to do. He perfecteth that which concerneth me. I shall not fear what mortal conditions can do to me. I and my Father are one. In Him I live and move and have my being. His grace is my sufficiency in all things. Be still. You need not fight. The battle is not yours. Be still. Be still and know. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. No fight, no strife, no struggle -- peace. Peace…peace…my peace give I unto thee. Not as the world giveth. Not as the world giveth. Not a peace that comes from destroying your neighboring country -- neighboring people. Not a peace that comes from having atomic bombs. Not as the world giveth, give I unto thee -- my peace. Nothing shall destroy thee. Nothing shall harm thee. For there is nothing but peace. The lion and the lamb shall lie down together. Peace. Be still. Put up thy sword, Peter. Put up thy defense. Those who live by the sword will die by the sword -- even a mental sword -- put it up. Stop defending yourself. This is not power. This is not evil. Father forgive them, they know not what they do. In every prayer, in every meditation, in every treatment, remind yourself, "Put up thy sword Peter." Don't argue. Don't refute. Don't defend. Don't protect. Put up that sword -- mental sword -- be at peace. My peace give I unto thee. I shall not fear what mortal man can do to me for that's the belief, belief, belief, not power. And belief hurts only the believer. Put up thy sword. In quietness and confidence shall be thy strength. God's grace is thy sufficiency. All right now that was the original revelation that started this whole career that resulted in the Infinite Way. The realization that you are still in the human world whether you heal with medicine or whether you heal with thoughts, you're still in the realm of physical healing. But the moment that you give no power to the condition -- no power to the circumstance and understand that -- in that moment you are at the point of spiritual healing, but you're also at the point of spiritual living because now you have no fear of the conditions of the world. It's a very strange state of consciousness for the human to understand. I'm thinking now of a man who is a very great man in England, and this was just before World War II when things were pretty chaotic over there and the umbrella was still flying, and conditions were dangerous. And a man said to this great one, "You don't seem to be disturbed by the things that are threatening our country today or the world." And this man answered, "My kingdom is not of this world." And you can imagine how that was misunderstood by everybody to whom it was repeated. As much as to say I don't care what happens to my country or to the world, but you know he didn't mean that. He meant this, that we're talking about, "My kingdom is not of this world," and so I cannot use the world's weapons. I must use the spiritual weapon which isn't a weapon at all -- it's a realization. And there came the second unfoldment that resulted in the Infinite Way - the word "realization." The only treatment, the only prayer, the only meditation, the only weapon we have is that one word "realization." When you are in prayer or meditation, regardless of what you think, regardless of what thoughts come to you, you are only in the process until the moment of realization comes and in that moment of realization there is what we call healing or redemption, whatever the nature of the God's grace must be. The words we speak are not power. The thoughts we think are not power. But if I sit in this quiet and I allow myself to think such thoughts as "peace be still" -- "the victory is to be achieved not by might nor by power but by my Spirit." I'm not seeking for a power to destroy something. Oh no, thy grace Father, thy grace is my sufficiency. Thy presence is a lamp unto my feet. Thy peace passeth understanding. In thy presence is fullness of life. As I sit contemplating these spiritual truths, which is a form of meditation, eventually I arrive at a place where thoughts do not come anymore, or perhaps I've thought all the thoughts along that line that I know. And so I just sit quietly, peacefully, and in a moment or two or three or four or five, I begin to feel this inner peace that is called realization. And that realization is the demonstration. Now you see I haven't known any deep metaphysics. I haven't known any deep wisdoms. I haven't gone around knowing a lot of great knowledge that's hidden from the world. I have done nothing but take our Master literally at his word that I need not fight evil. I need only seek the kingdom or the inner peace and then all these things are granted unto me. That's the whole secret of this message. You must know that if there is such an entity or identity as The Infinite Way and if it has spread around the world, it must have certain principles by which it is known, certain principles that identify it, certain principles that set it apart -- and these are they. This really constitutes what we call the message of The Infinite Way. The Master taken literally at his word and then the development of a state of consciousness that enables us to live it. |
